Padstow – Otherwise endearingly known as Steins-ville
On the drive back to London from St Ives we stopped off in the culinary, harbour town of Padstow. You may have heard of Padstow already in association to celebrity chef Rick Stein, who currently owns 11 establishments in the tiny fishing port, including hotels, a seafood school and gift shops. If you fancy a taste of real Cornish fish and chips, Stein’s Fish and Chips is the place to go.
St Petroc’s Bistro
For a more up market experience you can try The Seafood Restaurant, but be warned you have to book quite far in advance. My favourite out of all the Stein-eries was St Petroc’s Hotel and Bistro. The interior is more intimate and cosier than some of the other establishments and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for. The perfect Sunday lunch before heading home.
