East London’s Coolest Must See Hotel
East London’s Coolest Must See Hotel
Where? The Curtain
Exactly? Situated in a previously derelict factory in trendy Shoreditch, The Curtain is the newest edition to East London’s thriving ‘hang out’ hotel scene. It’s a see and be seen kind of place but with a whole lot of substance.
Why? As part of my week long birthday celebrations the gorgeous guys at Mr and Mrs Smith checked me in for a romantic weekend stay in one of East London’s coolest hotels, The Curtain.
Keep scrolling to see my photo diary of the weekend…
The Hotel
In the heart of London’s creative Shoreditch district, The Curtain, is a hub of activity. From the basement ‘drinking den’ members club to the rooftop swimming pool and dining rooms, every inch of this edgy building is oozing with fun and cool decor.
Have tequila and tacos in the colourful day-of-the-dead inspired restaurant or be entertained by the Sunday Brunch Gospel Choir in Red Roosters, there’s always something happening at The Curtain.
The completely renovated former East-end factory has been converted into a modern 120 bedroom hotel, with 6000 sq foot event and co-working space, ballroom, 24 hr gym, spa and 3 restaurants. Oh and did I mention the super trendy eclectic interiors?
Bonnie enjoys a coffee at the rooftop Lido restaurant over looking the swimming pool.
Breakfast is served with a pool view. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict which I’m chowing down on below! Freddie Flamingo comes as standard with the pool.
The Rooms
120 rooms and five suites make up the hotel offering at The Curtain. We stayed in one of the gorgeous loft suites with huge roof terrace overlooking Shoreditch.
The decor is super quirky with an edgy masculine vibe. Exposed brickwork, reclaimed wooden floor boards, bright coloured Chesterfield sofas and quirky 3D art works complete the hipster chic vibes. FYI this little in room Marshall speaker has a serious amount of kick!
Food and drink
With three fantastic dining offerings at the hotel plus all of Shoreditch’s incredible restaurants on your doorstep, you’re spoilt for choice here. I love Mexican food so lunch at the taco restaurant was spot on.
My favourite meal however was the absolutely divine (and terribly naughty) southern soul food at Red Rooster Restaurant, accompanied by a gospel choir for Sunday brunch. The entertainment and the food were both spectacular. We were transported to New Orleans for the afternoon! Hallelujah!

Praise the angel of the east for bringing us to this fabulous hotel! Sorry still channelling those gospel vibes. Good bye from East London, thanks so much Mr and Mrs Smith for organising such a great fun stay at The Curtain for me!

That is an absolutely stunning property. Everything from the fixtures hanging down from the restaurant ceiling to the beautiful wooden floors of the rooms. The attention to little details have really gone a long way for this property!
