Ferrari Weekend Part 2: Danesfield House
Ferrari Weekend Part 2: Danesfield House
Where? Danesfield House Hotel and Spa, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Exactly? Marlow-on-Thames, around an hours drive from central London, but adjust times if you’re in a Ferrari! The short distance makes it the perfect destination for a mini spa weekend.
When? April 2017
Why? For the second leg of my Ferrari UK road trip, I decided to head to the beautiful Danesfield House Hotel and Spa for an overnight stay. Including some pampering at the exclusive spa and some brisk countryside walks in the heritage property’s breathtaking gardens.
The Hotel
Surrounded by 65 acres of parkland and picturesque landscaped gardens, this immaculate Grade 2 listed country house commands spectacular views of the River Thames and Chiltern Hills. The gardens provide the perfect antidote to the city, featuring Italian and water gardens, woodlands, waterfalls, tennis courts and croquet lawns. The latter of which is the ideal location for afternoon tea in the summer months.
Add to this the Spa Illuminata, sister of the award winning Mayfair Spa and your mini break package is complete. The hotels facilities include a gym, 8 treatments rooms and a 20 metre swimming pool. Making it the ideal destination to get out of London for a little R&R.
Dressed for breakfast! haha. Bonnie wears: Dress by ALC, bag by Furla at Very Exclusive, heels by Kurt Geiger.
The car, the hotel, all the ingredients for the perfect weekend getaway.
The Spa Illuminata, sister of the exclusive Mayfair Spa, has a 20 metre heated indoor pool, ideal for lengths. Add to that the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation areas and there’s really no need to leave the hotel! Guests or day visitors to the hotel can book in for wonderfully indulgent treatments.
Ready for dinner
Bonnie wears dress by Versace in the grand hall. With original oak wood panelling and huge roaring fires it’s the perfect spot to curl up and get cosy in the winter months.
Afternoon tea on the terraces.

The Rooms
There are a variety of rooms to choose from, including traditional heritage rooms (see ornate bathroom shot below) or for those with a more modern design sensibility, opt for the quirky contemporary rooms designed by iconic French designer Phillip Stark, pictured above.
Eating and Drinking
Chose from the formal dining in the elegant Oak Room (pictured above) or the intimate Orangery (below) for a more relaxed atmosphere and views of the Chiltern Hills. The menu at Danesfield House showcases well executed modern British food created by chef Billy Reid.
Afternoon champagne tea in the Orangery or on the lawns in the summer, a great way to while away the afternoon.
The breakfast buffet offers a vast array of fruit, cereals, breads and juices or order from the menu for excellent eggs and a fantastic full English!
Dinner is a much more of a grand affair with exceedingly Instagram friendly plates.
And so to bed… but not before I get the prerequisite fairy light shot! Ta da!
Good bye from Danesfield House.
Thank you so much to Ferrari for letting me drive your incredible California T and Danesfield House for a very special weekend break. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
Next stop Bordeaux, France to review Gordon Ramsey’s new Michelin starred restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Bon Voyage xx
