Qatar – Opening of the world’s largest Nobu Restaurant

Where? Nobu Restaurant, Doha

Exactly? My stay in Doha was split between The Four Seasons Hotel and The W Hotel Doha

Why? Waygu beef, black cod in miso, shrimp tempura…need I go on.

Located on the stunning, yacht-lined marina within the grounds of The Four Seasons Hotel, Nobu Doha is the latest venture from highly acclaimed chef and restauranteur, Nobu Matsuhisa. The 26,000 square foot, tri-level modernist structure, which sits elegantly on the edge of the Arabian Gulf, is the worlds largest Nobu Restaurant to date. Incorporating all of the famous signature dishes on the menu, the chefs at Nobu Doha have added an extra middle eastern twist to some of the plates. The interiors are beautifully designed so that every angle of the restaurant is an aesthetic delight.

What To Eat

There are many delicious, signature dishes on the menu, such as the iconic, ‘Black Cod in Miso’ (pictured above). It’s all about sharing plates at Nobu, so order a range of dishes so you can sample as many flavours as possible. We had a fantastic tasting menu with wine pairings, featuring classics like ‘rock shrimp tempura’ and newer additions to the table like ‘new style salmon’ (pictured below).
All dishes come beautifully presented like little pieces of art. So much thought has gone into not only the flavours, but also the colours and textures, such as in the ‘squid pasta’ (pictured below).

After about ten more courses, out came the finale, the dessert board.

Wow, that’s quite a lot for one Bonnie! this might take a while….
After diner we adjourned to the roof top bar for cocktails and views of the spectacular Doha night sky line.

And so to bed in my decadent suite at The Four Seasons, what a fabulously indulgent and wonderful evening. Sleep tight!
