Where to Stay in Ibiza – The Best Hotels and Areas

Let me start by saying: I absolutely love Ibiza!

For me, it’s a home away from home. I’ve been visiting the magical White Isle for over 25 years—sometimes for entire summers, sometimes just flying in to review a hotel or check out a new club.

I’ve stayed in every corner of the island and experienced some of the best hotels in Ibiza—from party places to peaceful retreats. This is your ultimate guide on where to stay in Ibiza, The best hotels and areas, no matter what kind of holiday you’re planning

Whether you’re visiting for a weekend of clubbing or a relaxing escape in nature, this guide will help you find exactly where to stay in Ibiza that’s perfect for your trip.

Where to Stay in Ibiza: The Best Hotels & Areas

First Things First – Why Are You Visiting Ibiza?

Ibiza isn’t just a party island. It has many personalities:

  • The north is peaceful, spiritual, and nature-filled.
  • The south and Ibiza Town offer shopping, beach clubs, and world-class nightlife.
  • Santa Eularia is East central and on the coast. It offers a good halfway point for exploring.
  • The west (San Antonio) can be rough in parts but is a mix of budget-friendly resorts and gorgeous sunsets.

So before choosing the best area to stay in Ibiza, ask yourself:
Are you here to party, chill, explore—or a mix of everything? Your answer will shape the best area and hotel for you.

Getting Around the Island

Ibiza isn’t huge, but during high season, taxis are scarce and public transport isn’t great. If you’re exploring beyond your hotel, consider hiring a car—especially if you’re staying somewhere more remote.

The Best Areas to Stay in Ibiza (and Who They’re For)

1. Santa Eulalia (Mixed Vibes – Chill + Some Party) Stylish, Relaxed & Great for Exploring

Santa Eulalia is one of my favourite areas to stay. A stylish beach town on the east coast, it’s perfect if you want a balance of beach, calm, and luxury. It’s also well located for trips north or south.

Filled with chic, beautiful beachfront hotels it has a calm atmosphere. Ideal if you want a relaxed stay with a few fun nights out. A car is helpful here but not essential.

Perfect for: Couples, families, luxury travellers, relaxed holidays, low-key nightlife.

2. Ibiza Town & Talamanca Bay (Central, Chic & Close to Clubs)

Perfect if you want to dip into the party scene but still enjoy stylish restaurants, shopping, and a central base.

Close to the airport, marina, shops, and super clubs like Pacha. You get the best of both worlds: culture and clubbing. Ibiza Town doesn’t have it’s own beach but Talamanca is ideal for beach lovers.

Talamanca Bay is a lovely beach areas close to Ibiza Town.

Nobu Ibiza Bay

Perfect for: Trendy travellers, clubbers, short stays.

3. Playa d’en Bossa (Ultimate Clubbing Holiday)

If you’re here to party, this is the place. Playa d’en Bossa is home to the island’s biggest clubs and the most iconic party hotels. If you’re here for Hi, Ushuaia and a whole host of beach clubs stay here.

Perfect for: Groups, stag & hen parties, party weekends.
Top hotels:

  • Ushuaïa Ibiza – Legendary party hotel with its own club.
  • Hard Rock Hotel – American brand with beach access.
  • Es Vivé – Affordable, art deco-style with Miami vibes. Actually in Figueretas half way between Bossa and Ibiza Town.

Bear in mind: It’s full-on. Loud, wild, and fun. You likely won’t need a car here—you won’t be seeing much daylight!

4. The North (Peaceful Retreats & Spiritual Escapes)

If you’re after tranquility, nature, and healing, the north is your haven. It’s ideal for wellness breaks, yoga, and unplugging completely. You’ll need a car—but it’s worth it.

Perfect for: Wellness holidays, solo retreats, romantic getaways.
And make sure you explore the untouched northern beaches and head to Benirras for the famous hippie sunset ritual.

Top retreat hotels:

  • Atzaró Agroturismo – My all-time favourite hotel. The original Boho luxury hotels with spa, gardens, and blissful calm. Pricey but worth it. Even if you don’t stay, day spa passes are available.
  • Six Senses Ibiza – Destination spa hotel. Remote, luxurious, and deeply rooted in nature.
  • Can Lluc – Villa-hotel hybrid with luxury, peaceful countryside vibes.

You’ll definitely need a car here, and some places are tricky to find—bring directions, as phone signal can drop out.

5. San Antonio (Budget-Friendly & Evolving)

This area is known for budget stays and younger crowds—but it’s changing. San Antonio Bay now has some new luxury options popping up around San Antonio Bay area, too.

Be warned: The main strip is still dominated by British partygoers and spring break vibes. And central San Antonio is quite a concrete jungle, by island standards. But if you know where to go, you can find charm. Sunset beach clubs like Cala Gracionata, Hostel la Torre and restaurants like Madunia are raising the game.

Perfect for: Budget travellers, younger crowds, sunset seekers.
Top hotels & spots:

  • Oku Ibiza – Luxe, design-led hotel on San Antonio Bay.
  • Concept hotels like Cubanito and Los Felices – Instagrammable, budget friendly and fun, but not for luxe travellers.
  • Petunia Ibiza Boho and peaceful, with magical Es Vedra sunset views. Not actually San Antonio but in the west.

Villas & Fincas – A Great Option for Groups

Ibiza is full of stunning villas and fincas (converted farmhouses). They’re perfect for groups or families who want privacy and space.

To note:

  • Hire a car—it’s essential.
  • Some villas are on dirt tracks not listed on Google Maps.
  • Taxis can struggle to find you, especially during peak season.

Still, they offer a magical escape and total freedom.

Bonus Idea – Escape to Formentera

Want something even more off-grid? Formentera, Ibiza’s sister island, is just a short ferry away. Gorgeous beaches, slower pace, and true island life. But that’s a whole other blog post…
