Luxury Winter Sun Escape – Tenerife

Where? Vincci Seleccion La Plantación del Sur, Tenerife, Canary Islands.

After what seems like the longest winter known to man, I was craving a little luxury winter sun escape in Tenerife. I had a few days off and wanted an easy sunshine break, not too far from the UK, with guaranteed warmth in late Feb, early March.

The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago off the coast of North Africa. With year-round sunshine, breathtaking volcanic landscapes and unique black sand beaches. It’s a great destination to visit at any time of the year. It’s still warm in the winter months which makes it an ideal escape for travellers from the UK

I also wanted the whole package; flights, transfers, accommodation and few little extras thrown in. So, my first stop was the new ‘Indulgent Escapes’ luxury packages and holidays to Tenerife with Jet2holidays.

How to get there? The best and most affordable way to get to Tenerife from London is with Jet2. It’s only a 4-hour flight time. Here are the best flights from London Stansted Airport.

The Hotel – Colonial Splendour

Nestled in the glamorous beach resort of Costa Adeje, Vincci Selección La Plantación is a colonial-chic retreat. It’s the epitome of old school, elegant, laid-back luxury.

It offers spectacular ocean views from its hilltop location, indulgent spa treatments, and some of the island’s finest dining experiences.

Keep reading to find out more about this dreamy destination, a few insider tips before you book.

The Location & History

Perched between the stunning beaches of Playa del Duque and La Caleta, Vincci Selección La Plantación is set in a former banana plantation. It blends a rich heritage with sophisticated contemporary design.

The resort’s elevated location boasts breathtaking sunset views over the Atlantic, with La Gomera island on the horizon. Just a short drive from Tenerife South Airport, it’s ideally located for easy access to the island’s best beaches, designer shops and world-class golf courses.

The beach at Playa del Duque is so pretty and charming, its seafront shops, restaurants and cafes are only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There is also a daily complimentary shuttle bus service, but we enjoyed the gentle stroll down to the beach.

Chic Interiors & Stylish Spaces

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be transported to a world of understated glamour. Think wooden balconies, elegant verandas, and interiors in warm, earthy tones with stunning antique furnishings.

The design is a perfect fusion of traditional Canarian architecture with a contemporary, minimalist twist—making it an Instagram dream! Each room and suite is designed with comfort in mind. Each features plush bedding, marble bathrooms, dark wood traditional Spanish furniture and private terraces with stunning views.

Luxury Amenities & Activities

Relaxation and indulgence are the order of the day here! The hotel boasts six beautiful swimming pools (two heated), surrounded by tropical gardens and cascading waterfalls. Chic Balinese beds dotted around the property are perfect for sun-soaked lounging.

For wellness lovers, the award-winning Nammu Spa, boasts a range of indulgent treatments. Indulge in massage and facial therapies and a 2500 square metre ‘Canarian thermal Circuit’ inside a volcanic cave.

Yoga, Pilates and aqua aerobics are also available if you fancy keeping fit in style. I loved the complimentary daily yoga and pilates on the deck. With beautiful views out to sea, it was the perfect way to start the day. There’s also a fully equipped gym for fitness enthusiasts.
