Utterly indulgent and totally relaxing, Atzaro is a luxury retreat in the centre of a party island. Every where you look the scenery is incredible. The treatments in the spa are expensive but believe me, it’s worth it! You can hide away by one of the many pools during the day and feel like you’re the only person staying there. The hotel comes to life in the evening, hosting bands and fashion shows in the beautiful candle lit oriental bar. Everything about the Atzaro is elegant and chic but in a perfectly laid back way. Last time I stayed there was for a wedding, its great for a romantic break as well as a pampering weekend. Effortlessly cool.

The ultimate party hotel. An old favourite of mine, I’ve stayed here so many times I’ve lost count. This is the perfect place if you’re on a fun weekend break with your friends. Not ideal for romantic couples, it’s highly likely to end in tears!! Best for? People watching and has a great location, not too far from the clubs and Ibiza Town is a 10 minute drive away. Guests include lots of media and fashion types, as well as DJ’s and UK celebs. The Absolute bar is open through the night, many a legendary after-after party has been held here. What to pack, your most stylish wardrobe, the sun deck has a tendency to turn into a cat-walk once every one manages to get out of bed. It’s not too expensive and you can get some great last minute deals.

If you love a design hotel but want to stay a little off the beaten track, in the quieter part of the island, check out the growing number of agro-tourism hotels popping up around Ibiza. Can Lluc is a family run farm house with a vineyard producing it’s own wine, the exterior is rustic but the interiors are anything but. Expect powerful rain showers, wide screen TV’s, DVD’s and the most spectacular views of the surrounding hillside. A car comes in really handy if you stay here, but as it’s right in the centre of the island taxi’s aren’t too expensive.

Run by the lovely Margaret and her family, Cas Gasi is a beautifully presented agro-tourism hotel close to Can Lluc. The Decor is an eclectic mish mash of architectural salvage, elegantly put together with a Morrocan feel. I stayed in the romantic honey moon suite with my own personal library full of travel books belonging to the globe trotting family. Bliss! The secluded pool side terraces and hide away day beds within the grounds add an air of privacy. It’s a firm fashion favourite, great for shoots. No surprises then that both Kate Moss and Mario Testino have stayed here. Small but perfectly formed.

Good hotel to stay at if you’re on a budget. It’s central location over looking the Marina means you can walk to Ibiza Town and it’s just around the corner from Pacha. It has a great bar but unfortunately no pool.
